My students are fourth graders in North Carolina. Many of my students have a family member in the military since there is a large military base in our community. Many of my students move around a lot or have a family member that is deployed most of the school year. They attend a terrific school that prides itself on teaching them to pay it forward, leave a legacy, and make an impact on the world.
