The students in my classroom are visual, tactile learners. The sensory materials, sensory balls and construction set will encourage communication. The items chosen can also be incorporated into many different lessons to promote growth and learning in our classroom environment. Having hands on activities available to my students builds a cooperative environment where the students can interact with one another as well as the staff. It also allows for the students to meet their sensory needs and refocus their attention on important lessons throughout the school day. Due to the nature of my classroom, outside recess is limited during cold weather. Indoor activities that encourage play are essential for a positive classroom environment.
