After spending time getting to know our students and their families, we have done a needs assessment. Many of our students do not have access to laundry resources at home, including limited access to a washer, dryer, and laundry detergent. Several of our students have experienced utilities being cut off, and some are dealing with homelessness. We want to help remove the barrier of our students worrying about being teased for wearing clothes that are not clean. This addresses the issue of bullying, and helps with hygiene and self-confidence. Our students and their families will have access to the laundry room.
