This is a class in geology and most of the students have not even been out of the city. It helps their learning to actually see the geology and what it looks like with a trip to Death Valley National Park. Plate tectonics and weathering/erosion and climate change learning will be enhanced with this field trip. My very diverse students come from many different countries and most have never been on a field trip nor have they ever seen the geology that they learn about. This is a chance to make the geology and climate change very real and expose them to our wonderful national parks. None of my students has ever been in a national park before so this will be an experience of a lifetime for some of them.
