Teaching Sociology through comics we make connections between graphic literature and real life social issues as we delve into classic sociological concepts including: Gender, Race, Ethnicity, Nature vs. Culture, Nationalism/Patriotism, Media, Censorship, and Theology. We will study humankind's long association with visual and written narration not only for means of entertainment, but also as a stage for philosophical consideration and speculation upon culture and our relationship as readers, consumers, and contributors.
