Most of our students have a history of trauma and experience significant life stressors frequently. When they arrive at school, our goal is to make it a safe, welcoming place to help promote their ability to learn. We work with students and support the development of lifelong coping skills to manage emotional stressors. We are hoping to provide students with basic school supplies, fidgets and coloring pages to help with the use of coping skills at school, and snacks to help them focus on classwork. All the resources we are asking for are things we have found we need over the past few months, and we are unable to continue to supply students with this for the rest of the year. We hope to supplement our supply to continue to provide a safe, nurturing environment where we can support students' educational growth.
