In my classroom we use whiteboards and our desktops often, especially in math and cursive writing. Students use their whiteboards at their desks and around the room. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. There are however downfalls to utilizing whiteboards including markers drying up, missing erasers, and the boards becoming non-functional due to staining. Stopping to get new markers or erasers becomes a distraction in my classroom. Boogie Board tablets increase efficiency, thus allowing my students more time on task and increasing their learning opportunity, are environmentally friendly, and economically sound. By donating to our project, you will give my students the chance to practice and learn new skills using new technology! This will also help increase student focus. Students will be able to focus on the academics at hand instead of worrying about their materials. The Boogie Boards will also help us to cut down on waste of dry erase markers and paper!
