Research shows that children need to move especially during the school day. Active seating that allows students to wobble and rock also increases oxygen flow to the brain and core strength. In addition, it keeps young minds more alert and focused. Physical activity in the classroom is also linked to higher academic performance, better health and improved behavior. Comfortable students are engaged students. FlexibIe seating encourages students to find their best seat to stay calm, focused and productive. I have already seen the positive impact of my flexible seating in the classroom and truly hope to have a bigger impact with these additional seats and balance discs.
