These basic materials such as pencils, paper, flash cards and number lines will help my students succeed. I know it doesn't seem like much, but my students come from very low income neighborhoods where all too many times they don't have the basic materials to get through my class. My class is preparing for a very important test that is going to require them to know many basic math skills. It is going to require a lot of practice, patience, and consistency. Learning and utilizing these basic skills with the materials provided will at least give them a fighting chance.
