In biology we learn all about cancer. This is a topic that can be hard for many students to learn about because it has personal connections. In order to give my students a full experience I like to read a book about the topic. The value of reading about "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," and her contributions to our knowledge of cancer cells is imperative. I have a half class set of a "Sick Boy" for my grade level readers, but would love a class set of "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," for my advanced class. This book will help give my AP students a well rounded education on a very important topic.
