Counselor's office in need of a quiet corner for elementary students to regulate emotions. The Calming Corner will encourage students to learn to control emotional outbursts and act as a refuge for those who need a moment to collect their thoughts. I want to create a place where students feel secure and can focus their emotions. This project consists of a large, comfy chair, encouraging throw pillows and vinyl decals for the wall. I have received a grant for a fish tank that I have set up as a focal point for the corner. Ideally, this area will allow kids with emotional disturbances to regain their senses and be able to go back to class and continue their day.
