Throughout the day my students engage in various academic, social and communication activities. The students participate in independent and group activities to enhance their learning. Students with Autism are often visual and sensory learners and the use of an iPad will be helpful for instruction and communication. My students will benefit by engaging in online reading and math programs similar to their general education peers but at their own pace. Visual learning makes it fun for my students to learn and will help them to remember and apply skills gained to their day to day routines. My students will be engaged working on the iPad independently by learning to take turns and engage in less disruptive behaviors. Headphones for the iPad will be beneficial to the students to help them to be focused to instructions without any other interference. A iPad case will be beneficial to keep the iPad secure and help the students to have a good grip to hold it. My students attend a Title I school and many have limited access to technology at home. Purchasing of the iPad , headphones and the case for the iPad will be of great use for learning in the classroom.
