As an educator, my goal is to provide students with a rich, rigorous and memorable educational experience. I want students to feel safe, capable and engaged while doing so. Students in my class have a variety of learning styles and techniques; therefore, we must have options for students to choose in order for them to be successful. I like to provide an environment that meets the needs of all learners. Flexible seating options will help elevate and enhance our learning space to a more student-centered atmosphere. The Gaiam classic balance ball chairs will be used as an option of seating choice for some of my students who have a difficult time sitting in a regular chair. These chairs will be an asset to motivating some of our special needs students as well as those who are easily distracted. The floor cushions and stackable stools will be used for students to use during our independent reading time. Students love to have options when reading their self-selected books. These items motivated students beyond belief. Students love having these cozy areas to relax and read. It makes reading so much fun. Research shows that flexible seating increases motivation, collaboration and student engagement. Please help me help our future.
