Every student in my class has chosen the goal of attending college, many as the first generation to do so. Our class focuses on building positive relationships and communities as a support system in our students journey to successful college and career experiences. This peer support will follow them from middle school to high school and beyond. One way that we build solidarity is by wearing class T-Shirts every Tuesday. T-Shirt Tuesday gives our students recognition as student leaders in a college-bound community and a feeling of belonging in a group with a shared goal. If we can provide T-shirts for every student, we can start using them to begin developing as a cohesive group of Academic Warriors for Peace.
