The art of dissection helps young scientists understand the complexities of the tissues, organs, and systems working together to perform the functions of human bodies. Research shows us that students who perform hands-on dissection are more apt to recall structures and functions of body systems and better describe the complexities of the roles and interactions of these systems. We want to dissect frogs, which are an appropriate complexity level for young middle school scientists, in groups of about 4. We need dissection sets, trays, and goggles in order to do so safely and scientifically. All materials (except the frog specimens) are reusable year and after year, and will positively impact the science experiences of future students.
