As a first year teacher I want to create an environment where my students will thrive on working together to solve problems. Science and the engineering process provide opportunities for students to plan, ask questions, analyze, and construct. Some educational materials that will help inspire the students include Newton's Law, KEVA Contraptions Plank Set and Levers and Linkages. Here students will be able to work in small groups to establish a plan and consider how to construct different models in order for functionality to take place with each design. With this donation, my students will be able to utilize their ability to collaborate and create in an engaging way with a variety of hands on materials. A classroom is a place where students explore and create. The hope is that all my students will be excited about learning. Students will have opportunities to use the different educational materials to increase their knowledge and understanding of how science works. The materials will help motivate and encourage student interests and provide outcomes that will inspire learning.
