My 3rd and 4th Grade Spanish Immersion students are eager to do more hands-on STEM activities! They love to build and create and need the materials that will really allow them to explore. Storage bins will allow us to collect salvaged items for engineering explorations and projects, and keep our related books and journals at hand. The science kits will infuse their lessons with hands-on experience. The K'Nex and circuit-building kits provide exciting ways to stimulate their imaginations that lead to endless opportunities in their technology-driven world.
Through these explorations they learn that failing doesn't mean they are not headed for success! Hands-on activities also allow the students who struggle in some academic areas the chance to feel accomplished and excited about school. In my 30 years of teaching, I have never had the opportunity to help enrich my students' education in this vital way. Thanks to Donor's Choose for allowing young scientists and engineers to tinker!
