By actually seeing the numbers on the device, the athletes can realize how dehydrated they really are and sports medicine students can learn how to know when an athlete is hydrated or not. This is a tool that the Sports Medicine can read versus other tools that are more difficult. Having a limited amount of time to get athletes to practice, this tool will provide a quicker and accurate reading to know if an athlete is dehydrated. Athletic Trainers can keep an eye on athletes who seem to be prone to dehydration and continue to monitor them closely with providing education on nutrition.
