As the School Culture Director, I am responsible for running our Student Center. This ground breaking area is a place for all 1400 students. The Student Center is a place for students to print assignments since many of our students don't have access to printers at home, a place for hanging out before or after school, a place for students to study, a place for students to microwave their lunches and just hang out. The supplies in this project will help feed our students physically and academically. Many of our students are on free and reduced lunch and this is the only food they have all day. Students will often come into the Student Center to print papers, use school supplies but they are often hungry as well. Just as I was typing this, I had 6 students ask me for a granola bar! As you know, it is difficult to concentrate on your academic work when you are hungry. Supporting this project will supply our Student Center with food, plates, forks, spoons, napkins, printer paper, tissues and sanitizing wipes. These snacks and supplies will fuel our students on to success!
