I teach fourth and fifth grade math to a diverse group of learners, including highly gifted and talented students alongside those with disabilities. I'm dedicated to providing authentic, engaging learning experiences where every student feels capable and excited about mathematics. Differentiation ensures all learners can access meaningful, hands-on opportunities to grow. The primary purpose of this project is to provide my students with comfortable seating to read and write in, removing one more barrier for them to access their learning. It also will provide them with books that are desperately needed both at their level, and about subjects and people that interest them, as well as several in their native languages. Being able to provide these, as well as the adaptations to keep them focused on their reading, would be a huge support to getting them excited about literacy.
