We do a lot of reading in our class and my students will be more encouraged to read if we were able to have some cozy and relaxing furniture to sit on while reading. My students have very active imaginations that they use to transport themselves and their desk chairs into places like Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Tree House series. So I can only imagine the places that they will go with the addition of options like a couch, chairs and pillows. With these additions, I can see my students transporting themselves more easily into the pirate ships of the past and the space stations of the future, all the while enhancing their comprehension and analytical thinking skills, vocabulary and writing abilities.
