I want to provide my students with a new classroom library that has high quality texts featuring kindness, diversity, and texts they are excited to read! Studies prove that students experience greater literacy success when their own experiences are mirrored in the texts they are reading. When my students read, they need to see heroes and characters that look like them. Whether it's families that look like their own, or stories they can relate to, my students will make connections with these books that will enhance their literacy confidence. I want them to have a library they can't wait to get their hands on!
