My classroom is an extension of our STEM Lab. They work on STEM projects in our class when we are not working in the STEM Lab. In the STEM Lab, the students work at tables that encourage the collaboration amongst them. It is important to provide that same collaboration-rich environment within the classroom so the students create those collaboration norms in all environments. Students will have a place where they feel comfortable gathering and talking through their ideas in order to accomplish a common goal. This will help students to practice working together in other environments. The practice will prepare students for the collaborative environment that they will face in their future.
