My students are like little balls of clay. They have just begun kindergarten and are really excited to learn this year. In fact, some of are students like school so much, they RUN to school. Our school is in an impoverished area of our district and many of the students come from challenging backgrounds. Learning at our school allows them to feel safe and respected, which believe it or not, they might not feel at home. Unfortunately, because these students live in a poor neighborhood and there is a lack of involvement from the community, they don't get access to the same materials and resources as other schools that have more money.
