Our school is initiating "Clubs" in which the students will be invited to join. My club, "Young Photographers" will be offered to students from grades 3-5, extremely diverse backgrounds, and academic levels. Aside from being an inner city teacher, I have had a long love for photography and I am excited to share this new way of looking at the world with this special group of scholars. Our clubs are designed to enrich our students school experience, broaden their thinking about the world they live in and introduce them to experiences they might not have without this opportunity. My students will study color, composition, and angles to find the hidden beauty through the eye of the camera, within their own community. We will create digital portfolios and will conclude this project with community presentations of our work.
