Using Morning Bins in my class has been a wonderful way for my students to start their day. These bins, with the different building materials, provide my students with an opportunity to be creative, cooperative and social. The children need a variety of materials to keep them engaged and excited about working together. It is nice to be able to rotate bins periodically so that students do not get bored with the same choices day after day. I love seeing my students so engaged, while working in their groups, to create their masterpieces each day! Not only do the children want to use these materials for Morning Bins, they also chose to use them on our Free Choice time each week. Each day with Morning Bins provides my students the time they need to interact with building materials, while they get ready for a full day of learning.
