"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin This year in Geometry, I want to give my students the opportunity to DO more. My class this year is focused on doing and learning from our mistakes. Geometry involves a lot of congruent figures, so the students need supplies to construct figures, transform them and construct congruent figures. Constructing is a skill in some of the Geometry Common Core State Standards. So the students will need supplies and opportunities to do constructions in Geometry, to met the expectations of the State Standards. The students will use the compass and protractors to construct congruent segments and angles, and perpendicular bisectors. Students will transform congruent figures on the coordinate plane (graph paper). The students will use color paper to make foldables and interactive notebooks to take notes on how to construct and transform congruent figures.
