In order to support my students' literacy skills, I am hoping to grow our classroom library to ensure all students have engaging books at their level. Many of my students are learning English as a second language or read below grade level and benefit from having a large variety of texts that reflect their unique interests and skills. I hope that together we can build a classroom library as diverse and varied as my students. The importance of access to a text-rich classroom cannot be underestimated: research supports that consistent, sustained reading grows fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension; all critical for ensuring my students are prepared for college and career.
