As students delve back into learning, they need a place to feel loved and welcomed! Literacy is one of the biggest obstacles facing low-income and underserved communities! I want to create a positive learning environment in our classroom where students are able to let their imaginations run wild with a book as they read knowing that support is there. Most students at my school come from immigrant and refugee families, my hope is for them to know that they are welcome in my classroom and that they have the tools and opportunities that are given to every other classroom. Education, afterall, is the greatest tool for children to help them become global citizens and change the world!
