For preschoolers, play helps to construct knowledge about new topics and materials. Our curriculum addresses problem-solving, social and emotional development, literacy and language, mathematics, creative arts, science, and social studies. With all of these components comes a need for a variety of learning tools! High-quality learning materials will give our students the support they need to succeed. To support my students’ cognitive, social, and motor development, our class needs blocks, dress-up costumes, and a variety of paper punches in our learning centers. Blocks will teach children about constructing different shapes, sizes, making predictions and observations. Dress-up costumes will teach children about community roles, imagination and cooperative play. Paper punches help students develop hand strength essential for pre-writing tasks.
