PEERS® is the ONLY available evidence-based social skills program for adolescents and adults with ASD, and is used clinically for youth with other social challenges and diagnoses. With this project, we will complete the training for PEERS® Curriculum for School-Based Professionals. PEERS training will enable us to implement a social skills regimen into our community and school, where it is deeply needed. High school students will have access to learn how to make and keep friends, handle rejection, teasing, bullying, rumors/gossip, and cyber bullying, and how to handle arguments and disagreements with friends. We have seen the social, emotional and inter-relational growth of students who have had access to this program in their community, and we hope to bring this growth to ours.
