My school is very focused on social-emotional support of students. Most classrooms have a peace corner, a place for students to calm themselves and find peace, particularly pre-escalation. Because I just transferred to this school, I have yet to create a peace corner, but it is such an important part of the school culture and my students have been asking for this space already in the first 8 days of school. Students will be able to sit in their own space within the classroom, choose a breathing exercise or calming tactic, then return to academics. Thank you in advance for your help!
