My painting projects encourage students to talk about their life and also learn to use a repetitive movement process as a way to meditate. The classroom picture shows a project about the power of gaze. We discussed the gaze of the Afghan girl Sharbat Gula in National Geographic Magazine and the story behind it. Students painted their own gaze and talked about their stories behind it. However, my students' parents will get angry if their clothes are stained with paint. With these requested waterproof aprons, my students will be able to explore paint without fear; create without holding back, and make art with a relaxed and calming mind. Aprons are a safety mat for them to fall so that they could try to jump higher. I teach 1st -8th grade so I need aprons of different sizes.
