I teach second grade. I teach in a co-taught classroom with both typically developing students and students who have autism. Our school is in NYC and most of our students come from low income households. Our students are very open to diversity. Not only do we have many different nationalities represented in our school, but we also have many students with disabilities. Our students are taught from day one that differences are what make us special and unique.
