These books will allow my students to foster their love of reading by providing a nice selection for both boys and girls. Many of my books I currently have are worn, torn and falling apart. The students don't have many newer series to select from or I don't have very many copies for the multitude of students that I service. Also, I don't have complete sets for students to continue through a series and read the books consecutively. Having these materials available will bring excitement and delight to a large group of students who ask if I have copies of certain series like, "Dork Diaries" or "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series. The books will keep the students engaged and continue to sustain their love of reading which is essential not only to reading, but to all subjects. I will also have them write a short book recommendation for other students to enhance the writing curriculum. In a time of flooding our world with technology, there is something still so special about holding a book in your hands and turning actual pages. Students love selecting books each week, but with these books they will be able to enhance their education and support their interest in reading real books to hold in their hands!
