My classroom carpet is a common meeting place. We do much of our learning on the carpet, whether it be whole group, centers or working with a partner. My students would greatly benefit from having a rug for seating to allow for them to have personal space. The colored carpet shapes will give each child their very own space to sit and students will have a better understanding of their own personal boundaries. This will define our morning meeting and will make it more inviting for students to learn. Students need their own learning space in order to stay attentive and engaged in learning. I hope to create a welcoming learning environment for all of my students!
