My students are very excited to be sharing their space with the students from our SDC classroom. Right now, they are trying to squeeze together, but a few of them end up sitting outside of the rug area on the linoleum. Having this new rug that is big enough for all of us to have our own space, will support my students to build community as they work with students across difference. Making sure everyone has a physical space is important to support every student in the class to feel included. This rug will also help us stay organized and efficient in our transitions because it is color coded to match table groups. This will help us to maximize our independent reading time which will lead to my students' reading growth!
