They face some challenges such as single parent homes, first generation English speakers, 97% free/reduced lunch, living with relatives, low parent involvement, and most no access to technology. Half of the students are reading below grade level and 4 of them are English language learners. Even with all these challenges, my students are eager, motivated, and ready to learn.
