All kids dream BIG, but not everyone is equipped with the tools necessary to get there! I am a school counselor at an elementary school grades PK-8. Though my students have everything they need inside of them to reach their dreams, not all of them know it...YET! With the requested self-regulation and social-emotional books such as "Train Your Angry Dragon", my hope is to build a classroom calm corner where students can feel comfortable enough to go when they are feeling overwhelmed and need to recenter and refocus. Stress balls, "Train Your Angry Dragon" books, and Coping Skills for Kids Workbook: Over 75 Coping Strategies to Help Kids Deal with Stress, Anxiety and Anger are tools that can teach specific tools to support coping skills. College and career access is something near and dear to my heart. Not everyone will be an entertainer or professional athlete, but everyone can reach their full potential! The career materials such as "Career Ideas for Kids", Careers: The Graphic Guide to Finding the Perfect Job For You, and specifically "When are We Ever Going to Use This?" Poster will allow me to begin a resource center for all students (PreK-8) to have exposure to other career pathways and options. Exposure is key!
