If you spend any time with high schoolers you know it can feel like they are always hungry! In our school serving grades 10-12, the counselors get asked at least once every day if we have any snacks. Even after eating the school provided breakfast and lunch, these growing students are hungry! It is hard for students to learn, focus, and be their best self when they are hungry. As the students' school counselors, we want to make sure we are helping to break down any barrier that gets in the way of learning and being a happy and healthy young adult. With these snack options, students will be able to access food when they need it. Instead of worrying or thinking about their hunger, they can put their energy into learning and being present at school. With this project, students will be able to meet one of their basic needs that aren’t always fulfilled. Please help me provide snacks and water for my students to fuel their brains and bodies!
