Learning anatomy can be challenging for students. Modeling anatomy using clay engages students. Using modeling with clay will allow my visual learners to see it more clearly, my tactile learners to touch it, and my kinesthetic learners get to get up and move around. Because students will be engaged on so many levels, a greater understanding and retention will result. It is more difficult for them to forget what they have learned hands-on. The type of clay being purchased will not dry out. This makes this project not only engaging for the students, but cost-effective as well. Not only can I use these materials with my current students, I will be able to use these materials with other students for several years to come.
