I am trying so hard to give my students the gift of reading. More specifically, I want my students to develop a LOVE of reading. As I reader myself, I feel passionately that reading an inspiring book can open unlimited doors of opportunity. The problem is, the books available to my students are old, worn out, and damaged. Due to a lack of funding in my district, I have not been able to keep up with the need to replace classroom books at a reasonable pace. If we want students to read, we need to provide them with materials that they feel matter. They will not be engaged in reading books from 1970 that lack relevance to their lives and look like they've been around since the dark ages. Please help me restock my classroom library and pass along a love a reading to a new generation of kids!
