The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! My students will be utilizing games such as Candyland, Trouble, Old Maid (etc) to grow their social skills. We will use these items to promote practicing social skills in a safe, supervised environment. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them opportunities for social skills practice in a safe environment. Board games and card games give fun opportunities for interactions between students. Sensory tools such as the stress balls, sand and sphere will allow students to calm down in appropriate ways when upset or frustrated. We will be using the items during an 8 week social skills group which meets 2x per week. I have 20 groups a year that will benefit from the requested items. The games will be used in combination with lessons and books on skills such as cooperation, flexibility, empathy, etc. I have seen how practicing these skills will have a positively affect on my students social skills in the classroom and beyond. I hope that the additional options will help them grow even more!
