Most of my students are English language learners and need access to books that interest them and are at their level. My school district is in a low income neighborhood with little resources. Having access to these materials could make a huge difference, and get them excited about reading. They need to be reading as much as possible! I chose the books I chose because I know they are topics/themes my students are interest in. I also chose grade level texts, and lower, because that is where my students lie. I want to make an active classroom library that they feel comfortable using. I know families at home don't have much, and something like this book donation could make a huge difference. My students and I would be forever grateful for any help we can get!
