I am a veteran teacher but a new 1st grade teacher and I'm hoping to create a classroom environment where learning can be fun while giving my students every opportunity to succeed. I have been a Pre-K teacher for the last 10 years and was recently moved to a resource teacher position and finally a first grade classroom. The first six weeks were spent opening up TWO classrooms and learning TWO new positions. Since I've been in Pre-K for the last 10 years, I was literally placed in a first grade classroom with a 24 hour period and was not prepared in knowing what I would need to ensure that my students were successful. I have now spent the last two weeks trying to setup a classroom while at the same time teaching. I would like to add some personal items that would help my classroom, but unfortunately I did not have the time to plan and save money to do so. If you are able to help it would be greatly appreciated, but know that it would also greatly benefit every child in my classroom! Thank you so much....
