I teach Kindergarten in a Title 1 elementary school in the Bronx, New York. My student population is diverse. It is composed of both general education students as well as students who receive special education services. The majority of the students are African American and Hispanic. Many of the students come from homes that are facing a multitude of challenges including (but not limited to) poverty. Kindergarten is a magical place. Students are taking their first steps into their educational careers. I do my best to provide a nurturing environment where students feel safe and loved and are comfortable facing learning challenges. I take pride in teaching the WHOLE child and helping them grow academically, socially and emotionally.
