Our first-grade class needs supplies to make our guided reading and guided math stations more fun, engaging, and hands-on. The guided instruction time is important for student learning because students get differentiated instruction at their learning level. I use this time to meet students at their specific learning needs by teaching the days lessons in small groups. While I am teaching a small group of learners, the other students are engaged in station work. The supplies needed will help TRANSFORM our guided reading and guided math stations, by making learning engaging and fun. For example, the whisper phones will help my students read better independently. The gel writing boards will help my student practice sight words and spelling words. The interactive 120 chart will help students learn to count and write to 120. All these examples will transform student learning. It is my job as an educator to engage the minds of my first graders. These new materials can help make learning fun, engaging, and hands-on! With your donations, I believe learning in guided instruction stations can be even more effective.
