Gathering students together in my classroom to drum, is like gathering a community of individuals to a town meeting. Each student has something to say and it is important that they are heard. Just like our ancestors, I think these students can communicate through drumming. We can provide outlets for those having a bad day or lift each other in celebration for achieving our goals. Either way we use our emotions to connect with the music, using the World Drum Set in our drum circle will heighten the experience for each student walking though my door. All 400+ of them!
