I teach second grade in a public school in a small town in Illinois. Our population is 13,000. Our funding has been cut drastically. We have a 77% poverty rate. Our school has met or exceeded the state standards every year for the last 15 years. My students are very needy. I rarely have help from parents and spend my own money on many things. I feel like these children deserve every possible chance to have the same supplies and resources as any other child, but we just don't have the resources.

About my class
