The students pretend to be aliens who come to Earth from a different galaxy to learn about the characteristics of a living organism. Since the journey is fairly long, it requires a reliable spaceship with powerful thrust, and is installed with colorful blinking lights that symbolize friendship. The simulating thrust and lights are connected in parallel circuitries using copper strips. After landing on the Earth's crust, they make observations of a car and argue whether it is a living organism or not. Before returning home, they gather a few rock samples for further study of the Earth's composition. The materials that are needed for this project will make the story come alive, and at the same time, the hands-on activities such as painting a galaxy with water colors, designing a spaceship with electrical devices, and studying rocks with real samples will intrigue the students to learn more about arts, Life and Earth Science, and Physics. Furthermore, the students will learn an ample of academic vocabulary words as they constructing viable arguments, building circuits, and studying sedimentary, igeneous, and metamorphic rocks.
